The purpose of a Quality Control Technician is to utilize and implement acquired, quality awareness training, knowledge, experience, and practices to complete the Beall/MAC Enterprises, Inc. quality process. This includes “in process” and “completed product”, assuring the build of our product is representative of quality requirements that we hold as well as satisfying customer specifications. We believe in a high-quality product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Adhere to guidance and instruction from Quality Assurance Manager
• Perform a wide variety of specific test or verification procedures including but not limited to, axle alignment, air and electrical testing, ABS, tires, wheels, gates, etc.
• Organize documentation to utilize in inspection process assuring documentation is complete, (neat, legible, and accurate) and made available for record keeping retainment.
• Review documentation related to product being inspected. Assure product is as designated in specification documentation.
• Document all pass/fail information during the inspection process as required and instructed.
• Communicate with inspection Quality Assurance Manager regarding specific needs or any deficiencies in build of product being inspected.
• Operate and utilize camera to record inspection of product and enter/transfer necessary photographs in order required, utilizing computer system.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, product, and work area throughout shift.
• Maintain organized stock levels of inspection related parts and materials.
• Assist team members as needed and instructed as well as performing functions alone.
• Perform and abide by all safety policies, procedures, and practices.
• Any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, and/or ExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Proven quality related employment experience is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, comprehend, specification documents and/or related drawings.
• Ability to efficiently operate hand tools and at time hand power tools.
• Trailer building or inspection knowledge is preferred.
• Proven mechanical experience is preferred.
• Understanding or experience in welding is preferred.
Physical Demands
• At times, must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to utilize and instruct utilization of hand power tools.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and at times work from heights.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including being physically capable of maneuvering self throughout, work area, product, material, and equipment.
• Ability to see details at close range.
• Manual dexterity at the level to make precise coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
• Ability to listen/hear at levels to determine air flow and mechanical movement at all levels related to full operation of product or deficiencies in air flow or mechanical movement of product.
• Ability to concentrate on a task over extended periods of time without being distracted.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and at times work from heights.
TIER LEVEL• Tier I: Employees in this tier are considered entry level to the position. This level of employee is under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of this position.
• Tier II: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the work assignment. There is supervisor involvement checking completed work for quality.
• Tier III: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual typically does not need direct supervision and may assist in training of lower-level Tiers within the department.
