SummaryThe purpose/objective of this position is to complete the assembly of the trailer product and/or the trailer product’s components. Trailer products include and not limited to the body, vessel, platform, frame, or chassis. The assembler at Beall Manufacturing location, completes mechanical and assembly job tasks to satisfy the safe and efficient operation of our tractor trailer product.

Please note that shift hours are Mon – Fri 5am – 1:30pm with additional overtime. 

Wage Range: Tier 1 – 21.75 – 23.50

Tier II - 23.75 – 27.50

Tier III – 26.85 – 31.50

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while performing within the scope of the related tasks and assignments of this position.
• Review and comprehend specification documentation related to these positions assignments to ensure products are manufactured to customer requirements and MAC quality standards.
• Perform a wide variety of mechanical and assembly type work assignments including and not limited to, carrying aluminum and steel parts, mounting tires, mounting tires on product, applying decals and stickers on product, drilling, bolting, installing components, operating hand powered tools (Saw, Impact wrench) May assist/operate crane activities in body assembled to frame/chassis activities.
• Typically preparing frame or chassis of the product to receive the body of product. This application and work assignment may vary dependent upon assignment of type of product.
• Typically assuring appropriate components, material, and material fasteners are in accordance to specifications and MAC quality standards.
• Position, align, adjust, work pieces to facilitate appropriate routing of components between frame/chassis and product body.
• Install additional components and material related to this position’s assignment and scope of work. Mechanical and Assembly assignments will vary dependent upon the product. (Liquid and Dry Bulk Tankers, Flatbed, Drop Deck, Dump Trailers, Refuse Trailers)
• Inspect completion of work and installation of components, assemblies, connections, and fittings to assure operational, meeting customer expectations and quality standards.
• Assist team members as needed and instructed.
• Organize work areas including restocking needed parts and materials and keeping work area clean during and at end of shift.
• Communicate to management issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affects the safe and productive completion of product.
• Any other related assigned duties.

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend detailed drawings, specifications, measurements, and safety policies and procedures.
• At times, the ability to read basic instructions related to accessories and components related to work assignment.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Ability to operate hand power tools. (Drills, Saw, pneumatic tools, etc.)
• Tractor Trailer knowledge is preferred.
• Able to work alone or as a team.
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical applications.
• Mechanical proficiency is necessary.

Physical Demands

• Working in a manufacturing environment, maneuvering self throughout work area, product, Equipment.
• Manual dexterity with both hands is required.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Will stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, crouch or crawl, reach, pull, Push.

Position Tiers:

Tier 1: Employees in this tier are new to the position. Employees are under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of the position.

Tier 2: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the job. There is supervisor involvement checking completed work for quality.

Tier 3: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual does not need direct supervision and may be responsible for training and/or assisting newer employees in the department.
