JOB
The Human Resource Coordinator provides assistance to the human resource department for five (5) County Human Service Agencies within Luzerne/Wyoming Counties. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits related problems and ensures effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations. The human resource coordinator ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to human resources function as needed including record keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
  • Administers health and welfare plans including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questionsVerifies I-9 documentation and maintains that they are currentSubmits the online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks* Reconciles benefits statementsAssists with the onboarding processAssists with the processing of terminations, promotions, and hiringsAssists with the tracking of the performance reviewsTracks the status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow up letters at the end of the recruiting processAssists with FMLA paperwork for employees. Makes photocopies, faxes documents, and performs other clerical functionsProvides administrative support to the departmentAssists or prepares correspondencePrepares and maintains employee filesProcesses the mail* Performs other duties as assigned
