Position Summary:

LTN Global's Alpharetta, GA division is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. In this position you will focus on helping drive the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of our software systems. This includes defining the processes, tools, and systems to design, implement and deliver LTN Global's suite of advertising signaling products and features. LTN's signaling products deliver world-class, high availability, extremely accurate segmentation boundary management and other services for multichannel video programming distributors.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determine feasibility through problem definition, requirements gathering, analysis, proposing solutions and solution development
• Determine technical specifications and help drive the design, development, and maintenance of software
• Develop and maintain features, tools, products, and systems necessary to help power a multi-faceted network running highly available services
• Develop services and software with a focus on correctness, reliability, performance, security, manageability, and observability
• Document solutions by developing clear and precise documentation, diagrams, code comments, and code

Requirements:

• Bachelor's, M.S., or higher in computer science, computer engineering, engineering technology, or related fields
• 3-5 years' professional experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining production systems in Scrum/Agile environments
• Initiative and ability to work remotely, both independently and as part of a distributed team, with minimal direct management oversight
• Team player, ability to effectively share knowledge and teach/mentor other team members
• In-depth, proactive communication and documentation skills
• Hands-on development experience in C , JavaScript/node.js
• Experience in Linux environments and tool chains (e.g. make, gcc, gdb, valgrind, etc.)
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Experience with most of the following:
  • C : STL, gcc, multi-threaded applications, IPC, sockets programming
  • Git, GitLab, CI/CD tools
  • RPC and REST APIs
  • RedHat Linux: administration, Bash, RPM packaging, YUM
  • Understanding of relational databases, SQL, ODBC, etc.
  • Front end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Kibana, Angular or ReactJS, PHP
  • Tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, WireShark
  • Virtualization, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Common network services and protocols such as IPv4/6, DNS, HTTPS, NTP, SNMP, etc.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with:
  • GStreamer, ffmpeg, VLC, video and audio compression
  • Working level understanding of streaming video delivery: linear, OTT encoders
  • Adtech and video segmentation boundary management, such as SCTE-35/104/224, content replacement, and traffic management playout automation systems
  • Metadata management and distribution
  • Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka
  • AWS: EC2, ECS, Cloudfront, Cloudformation, Route 53

Work Environment:

• Strong support for telecommuting from home office environment
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones)
• Potential for working in a software and networking lab environment with servers, cabling, networking equipment with related lights and noises
• Travel: less than 5%
