Summary:
The Coordinator for Workforce Development will primarily support program administration, and operations, playing a critical role in positioning the LAEDC for long-term sustainable growth. The coordinator will be immersed in the LAEDC's 5-pillar strategy focusing on Economic Research, Industry Councils, Business Assistance, Workforce Development, and Foreign Direct Investment, driving us towards a more resilient economy. They will assist in organizing, staffing, and supporting meetings and events with various partners, including regional program advisory committees, work-based learning opportunities, and other relevant workforce development focused events.

Duties:
- Staff and assist in managing logistics for meetings, including th agenda development; invitation outreach, follow-up, attendance, and day-of check-in; meeting facilitation, as appropriate; and taking minutes.
- Assist in conducting, staffing, and promoting work-based learning opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with faculty, job placement/training agencies, internship sites, and businesses to promote program for participant placement.
- Document all program activities, track student placement, analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings.
- Drive efforts to maintain and grow relationships with existing partners, develop new businesses from these partnerships, as well as proactively seek out and engage new potential partners.
- Collaborate closely with the training providers to identify dislocated job seekers who are potential candidates for services provided through the Workforce Accelerator Fund.
- Support the team with Gladeo LA marketing and outreach, including presentations of the platform to stakeholders.
- In partnership with the Engagement team, collect, curate, and develop PR-related content, copy, metrics, and images for use on the website and social media.
- Assist in developing feedback loops with employers to identify and document workforce needs and trends and develop surveys to analyze competencies and skills needed by employers.
- Assist in the programmatic deliverables for a virtual career navigation platform empowering Angelenos to make informed decisions about their upskilling, reskilling, and personal career paths, in partnership with employers, education, and workforce system stakeholders, organized labor, industry associations, and others.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly program and performance reports.
- Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations for the Workforce Development team.
- Responsible for additional duties and departmental projects as assigned.
- Ensure all activities duties support the LAEDC's mission, goals, and objectives.

- Education/Experience: Associate degree from a community college or bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or four years related experience and/or training in workforce development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment:
This position will operate in a hybrid schedule. The employee will base work from the DTLA office 40% of the work week and additional time as needed with the option to work remotely on the remaining time. Employees are required to reside in the Los Angeles County Region. The organization will continue to assess the hybrid environment and adjust to meet programmatic needs accordingly.
