Summary: This position coordinates and manages the design work for a project under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.

General Responsibilities:

• Development of horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, and cross-sections using Microstation Select Series 4 (SS4) and Geopak
• Assist with establishing production budgets based on work required
• Apply manpower needs for deadlines and budgets
• Determine and schedule project deadlines
• Assist with change order/revision documentation on plan sets
• Prepare a construction phasing plan for completion of project
• Other assigned duties as required

Required Education/Licenses:

• Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

• 10 years experience designing transportation projects (TxDOT, HCTRA, or similar) using GEOPAK and MicroStation SS4.
• Effective communication skills both oral and written
• Effective interpersonal skills with coworkers and public agency officials
• Extensive contact with outside agencies and project team members
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
