We have an opening for a dynamic experienced Drainage Designer in our growing Design Engineering Services Group in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. We are opening a new office within the next few months in Dallas, and are creating a team of experts to support our numerous transportation infrastructure projects around the country that include the SE Connector Design Build project in Fort Worth! ****District Overview****

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. ****Location****

This position will be based out of Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers new Dallas/Fort Worth Texas office and offer offer relocation assistance for candidates willing and interested in relocating!

****Responsibilities****

The candidate will be part of a design team responsible for completing engineering assignments in support of heavy civil construction for Kiewit Construction Companies business including drainage design, preparation of design plans, and technical reports. Key responsibilities include the following:

Support Design/Build projects anywhere in the country; Develop preliminary and final design plans and details

Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations

Use MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D, and other civil engineering design software

Produce documents with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Assist CAD Manager in implementation of DOT workspace configurations, conform with DOT CAD standards

Participate and assist with the development of team software training materials

Development of drainage plans, profiles, specifications and estimates for transportation and other water resources projects

*Higher level candidates will mentor and lead other more junior designers as we grow the team.

****Qualifications****

Associates degree in computer-aided design, 3D modeling, drafting, survey or similar program experience

**4 years experience in CAD and plan set production of drainage, highway, and civil design projects

Must have experience in both AutoCAD and MicroStation (2D & 3D) but proficiency in at least one of the two.**

Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley InRoads, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and Revit is preferred.

Experience of ArcGIS and surface generation is an advantage

**Design experience on Design-Build projects is an advantage**

General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil engineering work with the ability to comprehend civil engineering drawings

Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize

Capable of recognizing discrepancies with strong attention to detail

Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize

The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with team members

**Additional Requirements:**

Base Compensation: $58,378 - $87,566
