Litmos is looking for a part-time HR Specialist to join our U.S. team for a 6-month contract engagement. The HR Specialist will encompass various HR administrative tasks, including managing onboarding processes, manages leaves and benefits, providing support for payroll processing, and managing day to day employee requests and questions. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while providing exceptional service to our employees.
Please note:- This will be a 1099 contract position - no benefits are available to a person accepting this position.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage the logistical aspects of onboarding, including preparing new hire paperwork, orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Updating and maintaining employee data in HRIS
  • Managing worker's compensation and leaves of absence cases with third party partners, and providing relevant updates to stakeholders
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and practice all associate Leave of Absence policies and processes including but not limited to: Corporate sponsored Disability Policies, Federal FMLA, STD/LTD, OSHA reporting, State Sponsored Leaves, HIPPA, USERA, ADA Accommodation, and other Leave of Absence related legislation and policies across US.
  • Supports and responds to internal requests in the collection of audit data for program compliance and control requirements.
  • Responsible for the coordination of benefits related activities including those with external benefits vendors - coordination of premium payments, vendor mapping, data issues and verification, solicit beneficiary forms, coordinate address searches, court orders and reporting/reconciliations.
  • Lead U.S. benefits administration tasks, such as enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries. Interact with benefit providers as necessary.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Provide support for payroll processing for salaried and hourly non-exempt employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution.
  • Manages the vendor partnership to include operational regular meetings, day to day inquiries from vendors in support of compliance with plan documents and regulations, SLA, and overall contract agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance employee engagement initiatives and support a positive work culture.
  • Assisting with other Human Resources special projects as required
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in HR administration, focusing on onboarding, LOA, benefits, payroll, and workers' compensation.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously – operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and benefits administration
  • ADP WorkforceNow experience highly preferred
  • Greenhouse (ATS) experience highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach to employee service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
