About the Role

The Business Development Senior Specialist - Litigation is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team. This role will be responsible for playing a key role across the full marketing and business development spectrum to support the Litigation practice in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley markets with an emphasis in Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Technology industries, while working in close collaboration with the local corporate chairs and partners, the Global Litigation Department Business Development (“BD”) team, and other BD colleagues to develop, implement, and support the Litigation practice and local overall marketing initiatives and strategic business plans. This role will be located in either our San Francisco or Silicon Valley office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of practice, market and industry expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media
• Staying abreast of developments and trends in the area of litigation and remaining informed of all major new clients and matters
• Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies and client targeting initiatives, including collaborating with relevant BD teams
• Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
• Supporting the Practice Group in routine analysis and reporting of practice and industry competition, market trends, internal financial information, business opportunities, and pitch activity in efforts to develop and implement internal and external strategies for your market
• Managing the daily needs of the litigation lawyers within the Bay Area.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Display knowledge of the litigation landscape
• Demonstrate a high degree of discretion and independent judgment
• Possess the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively

And have:

• A Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
• A minimum of four (4) years of related subject matter experience and related analytical experience
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working within Litigation practice areas
