Title: Lead Process Engineer
Location: Remote at Houston TX
Duration: Contract to Hire (eligible for conversion after completing 520 hrs on W2)
PROCESS ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
As a Lead Process Engineer, you will prepare project deliverables and contract documents including calculations, P&IDs, H&MB, datasheets, and drawings for the Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Engineering phases
Provide technical support for Aromatics unit and associated facilities at various stages of project execution
Responsible for oversight of design contractor activities, including design reviews, coordination, and making recommendations to owners engineering team
Responsible for producing deliverables that are needed to support various AACE Classification cost estimates for the capital projects
Knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for the oil, gas, and chemical industries
Prior experience in troubleshooting; proposes and implements solutions to problems encountered with process systems
Conduct or lead HAZOP for capital projects
Lead and participate in IDC/IDR cross-discipline checks
Participate in discipline checks for project design and drive overall project quality requirements
Survey existing process systems and examine field conditions as required to support the development and completion of projects. Must demonstrate experience in identifying field conditions that can impact the project objectives and scope and articulate them in a clear manner to project team
Construction administration (Answering RFIs, review of shop drawings)
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on process engineering related matters
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (or related field) and 15 years of related work experience
Demonstrated ability to work with vendors and contractors, while interfacing with multiple departments, and working with internal customers to manage projects, policies, and procedures
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required
Experience completing a variety of process engineering assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes
Experience reviewing supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters and lower level Process Engineers working on the same project
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
Occasional field visits, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 25 lbs
Experience in process design for front-end (FEED), detailed design and field support of oil and chemical industries, including aromatics units
Experience preparing complex process engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and P&ID's (Process & Instrument Design)
Proficient in the use of Aspen HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus or other process simulation software
Complete knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for the oil, gas, and chemical industries
Professional Engineer registration may be required
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Familiarity with FEL project implementation process is a plus
