Health and Wellness Direct Support Professional
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Hours & Shifts: Part time. 20 hours per week
Starting Pay: $16.25/hour with an additional $1.00 shift differential on weekends.

About the Role
The Health and Wellness Direct Support Professional provides wellness-focused support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Health and Wellness DSP fosters a teaching relationship that encourages healthy and productive personal growth, community inclusion, creativity and independence.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Assists individual to engage in healthy initiatives (which will include teaching, oversight, and hands-on assistance) by ensuring individuals wellness goals are followed and documented as required
- Encourages individuals engagement in social and community activities as well as appropriate physical/ wellness activities
- Know and be able to communicate with the person receiving services
- Ability to stay calm and proactively manage crisis and behaviors
- Identify obstacles and help the person served problem solve around them
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Meaningful collaboration with peers to ensure outcomes are met
- Maintain flexibility to meet the health and wellness goals of individuals being supported
- Build healthy habits and have a positive can-do attitude
- Assist individuals in choosing activities important to them
- Ensures environments meets safety requirements and addresses safety issues timely and appropriately
- Communicates timely with managers regarding pertinent issues and works collaboratively with peers and other departments
- Models The LADD Way (TLW) ensures their performance is aligned with TLW and the policies and practices set for the department
- Represent LADD in a positive manner as appropriate
- Keeps up-to-date on all relevant training and certifications
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participates in annual MyPlan meetings when able
Education/ Skills and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Current CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Current Medication Administration Certification
- Valid driver’s license (with fewer than 6 points) and vehicle insurance
- Ability to pass a background check (includes physical and a drug screen, and criminal check)
- Ability to navigate various technology software and platforms
Work Environment/ Physical Demand:
- Work schedule will vary based on individual availability and will primarily include evenings and weekends
- Job may include lifting and other physical activities
- Job will include being in a residential environment; and will require travel to other locations
