THE POSITION :

The Marketing Coordinator, within the Communications Department, supports the Marketing Manager in executing strategies to promote LA Family Housing's mission to end homelessness.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role involves assisting in website updates, designing flyers, managing email marketing, and producing print materials to enhance community awareness.

Utilizing storytelling, strategic thinking, and creativity, the Marketing Coordinator develops compelling marketing materials and campaigns tailored to LAFH's target audiences.

Responsibilities include transforming various content, such as participant success stories, homelessness policy updates, and fundraising appeals, into impactful marketing materials.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create engaging content for digital platforms, including the LAFH website, social media, and emails.
  • Brainstorm and develop compelling social media content with the Social Media Coordinator to reinforce the LAFH brand and promote our mission to target audiences.
  • Assist in managing social media ads and analyzing analytics.
  • Support website maintenance, including updates and periodic refreshes.
  • Generate impactful content for LAFH's website and blog to inform and engage the audience.

DESIGN & COLLATERAL

  • Develop LAFH print materials from concept to completion, including content creation, image selection, and design layout.
  • Work with the Special Events team to produce signage and collateral for events.
  • Ensure external communications materials are updated in collaboration with the Programs team.
  • Assist the Associate Director of Internal Communications in creating digital and printed collateral as needed.
  • Manage the photo database and source new images for various communication channels.

OTHER

  • Assist the Social Media Coordinator with live social media coverage as required.
  • Additional duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

WHAT YOU'RE SKILLED AT :

  • Thorough understanding of contemporary online marketing strategies and current best practices.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Experience with website platforms, particularly Squarespace, and proficiency in design tools like Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in both team-oriented and individual work settings.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms, with preference for Pardot, and proficiency in video editing tools, with preference for Premiere Pro.
  • Proven track record of effective collaboration and adaptability to diverse working styles within a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficiency in English, with bilingual skills being beneficial but not mandatory.

OTHER :

  • Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards
  • Obtain and maintain CPR / First Aid Certification
  • Able to pass post-offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
  • Travel is a regular duty for this position and is required 5% of the time
  • Use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations is required
  • Must have and maintain a valid California Driver's License and auto insurance in good standing
  • Able to work a 9 / 80 work schedule with flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed

WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED :

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Digital Marketing, Internet Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in roles such as Social Media Coordinator, Content Manager, Copywriter, or similar positions, demonstrating a successful history of crafting compelling social media content and overseeing social media platforms.
