Koenig Equipment is Hiring a Service Manager Near Richmond, IN

Koenig Equipment is a family-owned Agriculture, Turf & CCE equipment dealership established in 1904. Our strong culture and commitment to growth has allowed us to expand to 15 locations across Indiana and Ohio. We look for employees who are eager to learn, take ownership of their work, have strong communication and collaborative skills, and an innovative mind. Koenig is currently searching for a qualified Service Manager to support the dealership's Richmond, IN location.
Duties:
  • Fully embrace and utilize our Koenig Operating System, as well as, John Deere Dealer Path, CDK IntelliDealer, etc., to drive the desired value expected from our manufacturers and customers.
  • Execute the required standard work to achieve our budget initiatives for revenue generation and expense control.
  • Own customer satisfaction for exceptional quality, on time delivery, knowledge transfer and ongoing support.
  • Lead in the development of service programs, campaigns, clinics, and other events that “wow” our customers, manufacturers and competitors.
  • Champion the growth of the service department through proactive selling.
  • Drive the execution of our process “work order to invoice”.
  • Monitor progress via twice daily “walk arounds” to maintain schedule and quote, develop recovery plans when changes are required. (Customer review and approval may be required per “work order to invoice”)
  • Promote open and ongoing customer communications, either directly or through the Service Writer.
  • Be the voice of the team, lead with passion and enthusiasm, empower those that are ready, hold them accountable when required.
  • Create an environment that promotes continuous improvement and celebrates the elimination of waste as a means to further enhance customer value.
  • Review Koenig depth charts to ensure the branch and/or company has sufficient knowledge/expertise to properly service the equipment product lines sold in our AOR’s. Recruit for new staff as required (follow HR’s lead).
  • Assure technician learning paths support the product line coverage KEI desires per the above line item.
  • Champion employee development by performing quarterly performance reviews for the technicians. Review their performance indicators, identify gaps that need attention, define a recovery plan, work together to achieve our joint goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of comparable experience in a dealership environment.
  • Ability to lead teams in the execution of standard work through empowerment with accountability.
  • Strong management and inter-personal skills. Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of product line and mechanical systems being repaired.
  • Ability to use our computer operating systems, vendor computer resources, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Commitment to maintain standards and address issues in a timely, professional manner.
  • Understanding of financial reporting principles relative to service operations.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
