About Us: Our client is a faith-based Christian nonprofit dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. We are currently seeking a dynamic and committed Part-Time Cost Accountant to join our team.
Cost Accountant Position Overview: As a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial resources and ensuring fiscal responsibility. This is a temporary position with the potential for permanent employment, offering a hybrid, remote, or on-site work environment.
Cost Accountant Responsibilities:
1. Budget Management: a. Develop and monitor project budgets in collaboration with project managers and department heads. b. Track budget expenditures, analyze variances, and provide accurate financial reports to project stakeholders. c. Identify potential budget risks and provide recommendations for mitigating actions.
2. Financial Analysis and Reporting: a. Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for projects and departments. b. Conduct financial analysis to assess project performance, identify trends, and support decision-making processes. c. Collaborate with project managers and department heads to provide financial insights and recommendations for cost optimization.
3. Grant Management: a. Oversee the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and accurate reporting. b. Coordinate with program staff to develop project budgets and financial proposals for grant applications. Monitor grant expenditure and reporting timelines, ensuring timely submission of financial reports.
Cost Accountant Qualifications:
- Must:
- Any level of cost accounting experience (from recent grad to seasoned professional).
- Plus:
- Experience with Odoo.
- Multi-cultural experience.
- Mission work or nonprofit/faith company experience.
- A Christian faith.
- Grant compliance experience.
Cost Accountant Compensation:
- Hourly pay: $30-$50, commensurate with experience.
