Human Resources Specialist
As a Human Resources Specialist at Kinney Construction Services, Inc. (KCS), you will be responsible for overseeing areas within the HR function to include talent acquisition (recruitment), performance management, HR and safety compliance, benefits administration, and insurance policy administration. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and programs, while also fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. We are looking for a proactive and results-driven individual who has a passion for finding the right people for the right positions. This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Talent Acquisition and Placement: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and hire top talent.Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, career fairs, networking events, and other recruitment avenues. Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and provide regular updates to the management team.
· Performance Management: Responsible for creating and implementing performance management systems to help managers evaluate employee performance and provide feedback. This includes setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and creating individual development plans.
· HR and Safety Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with employment laws and regulations, maintain and update employee handbook, and safety compliance administration.
· Benefits Administration: Administer and manage employee benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries, concerns, and claims. Coordinate with benefits providers and brokers to ensure smooth and accurate enrollment, changes, and terminations.
· Insurance Policy Administration: Assist with general liability, automobile, and workers’ compensation policies, including claims and policy renewals.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
· SHRM certification or similar certification desired.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in human resources, and specifically recruiting.
· Strong knowledge of effective recruitment strategies, tools, and best practices.
· Experience managing workers’ compensation policies, claims, and return to work programs.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proven ability to handle conflicts and difficult conversations with composure and assertiveness to ensure effective resolution.
· Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
· Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook Email).
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Construction industry experience preferred.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
