King’s Chapel, founded in 1686, is a National Historic Landmark on Boston’s Freedom Trail and an active Christian Unitarian house of worship. We offers visits and tours to thousands of visitors per year through our History Program.

The Coordinator of the History Program is responsible for the management of this program, including hiring, training and managing part-time tour guides

The program is currently closed with a planned re-opening for the tourist season on or around June 1, 2024.

Essential Job Duties include:

• Overseeing the visitor experience and creating protocols to ensure visitor, staff and property safety.
• Hiring, scheduling and managing tour guides (3-8 part-time tour guides);
• Training staff in existing program and tour materials
• Arranging tours with area/regional educational institutions;
• Managing ticketing platform, overseeing ticketing revenue accounting and reconciling cash receipts;
• Managing stock and sales in small gift shop.
• Managing operational budget for the program in alignment with the church’s fiscal needs and requirements.
• Coordinating programming and exhibition schedules to ensure high-quality offerings and interdepartmental coordination.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
