Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation: Starting rate of $18.25/hr wage adjusted based on experience
  • Benefits: Full-time seasonal positions eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
  • Daycare provided for Staff Members working in the Childcare Center, based on availability
  • Lunch provided for Staff Members working in the Childcare Center
Job Summary:
The Killington Childcare program provides indoor care with age appropriate toys, games and optional outdoor activities year-round. State-licensed and fully equipped, our Childcare Center is open five days/week during the summer and seven days/week during the winter months, including all holidays, making our Childcare Center the most convenient in the area. Childcare is available to staff and Killington residents from 7:45-4:30 and to the general public (for ages 2-12 only) from 8:30-3:45.
Caregivers are responsible for children 8 weeks to 12 years old. Reporting to the Childcare Manager or Supervisor, the Caregiver is responsible for the health and safety of all children in their care. Working under the direction of the classroom Lead, the Caregiver assists with feeding, changing diapers, and assisting children with all needs while maintaining and complying with all Vermont Childcare Regulations. Each Caregiver will be provided with all state-required training and will be expected to complete these trainings within 7 days of hire.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist in the daily routines of children such as feeding, dressing, sleeping, playing, changing, and learning
  • Monitor the health and safety of all children in your care
  • Maintain a record of your assigned children's daily activities and relay that information to their parents upon check-out
  • Our facility is state-regulated and you will be required to follow all applicable regulations regarding the operation of our daycare center
  • Qualified staff may also prepare young children (2-3 years old) to go outside to play
  • A positive attitude and patience with children is required
Basic Qualifications:
  • Applicants for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background check
  • Applicants must be 18 years old
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Prior teaching/childcare experience is preferred but not necessary
  • Enjoy working with young children
  • Must have strong communication skills
