Description
General Butler State Resort Park, located in the heart of the Bluegrass, in Carrollton, KY, provides all the peace and tranquility of the country while only minutes from the city. The Park Chef I is a skilled team member, providing expertise in the restaurant, kitchen, and catering operations, allowing you a great platform to express your customer service aptitude and culinary creatively at Two Rivers Restaurant, Port Williams Lounge, and all catering opportunities across the park. As a fluent communicator, duties would include assisting the kitchen supervisor in the kitchen, training others, and being the vital link of information on the necessities of the park, so it can operate efficiently.

We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and buffets, as well as banquets and catered events on and off the property.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
  • Occasionally serve food
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of food preparation experience in salads, vegetables, or meats. One year of the required experience must include management or supervision of a medium-to large-scale institutional or commercial full-service restaurant or state resort park food facility.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: One year of culinary training will substitute for one year of the food preparation experience.
