Position Title: Project Coordinator

Essential Functions:

We seek a detail-oriented, thorough, organized project coordinator to join our growing team. The Project Coordinator will provide a high level of administrative support for a wide variety of utility construction projects. This role is critical to the overall success of our various large scale construction project across multiple locations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assembles and processes job packets, coordinates with permit technician, initiates work order creation, verifies the accuracy, and maintains updates for MR’s (material requests) for individual projects.
  • Assists with collecting, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on various items within multiple customer systems as requested.
  • Effectively manage a large workload with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and coordinate several projects at various stages.
  • Read and interpret multiple types of construction drawings to determine job scope.
  • Obtain permits and easements for facilities in accordance with city ordinances, state, federal, and county agencies as required.
  • Actively communicate with customers, vendors, and supervisors on all aspects of individual jobs.
  • Performs data entry of time and material from field crew timecards into proprietary system.
  • Ability to track material and permits on various project sites.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of active construction projects, in consultation with Project Management
  • Effectively interact and builds relationships with customers.
  • Liaison between multiple residential and/or commercial developers and all divisions of utility installation and the corresponding contractors.
  • Assists in scheduling locates.
  • Maintains updated job scheduling and completion records.
  • Requests project job numbers and sets up the job numbers in various systems.
  • Performs general data entry into project tracking Database.
  • Follows through with tasks and processes until completion; ensures processes are complete with a high-level of follow through and follow up
  • Performs other position duties when requested.

Success Factors:

  • Strong Experience with getting work permits for multiple cities
  • Maintains strong work ethic to ensure the required day’s work is complete.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with all customers (internal/external).
  • Experience working with underground utilities platforms preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • 1-3 years’ experience of Construction Industry Experience is required
  • Experience working with underground utilities desired

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen
