Keen Search & Staffing has partnered with a reputable oil & gas company in Houston Texas in search of a Senior Accountant. This is a CONTRACT position until the end of the year. Great opportunity for someone who is open to in office in the beginning and hybrid after that. MUST BE OK WITH CONTRACT.

This role is heavy Excel and required ERP experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data mining and the ability to work with large samples of data downloaded from an ERP system into Excel.

Requirements:

• 3 years of accounting experience
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• Be able to work in a very fast-paced environment
• Strong experience in Excel and ERP systems (Oracle or other)

Duties:

• General Ledger accounting functions.
• Be able to read and understand financial reports (Income Statement and Balance Sheets).
• Prepare monthly journal entries to account for activities related to drilling operations, including recording expenses, operating statistics, amortizations, equipment leases and/or service agreements.
• Interface with Operations to ensure that revenue, expenses, accruals, and deferrals are properly calculated, recorded in the appropriate period, and in a timely manner.
• Understand and adhere to SOX and other mandated documentation and reporting requirements.
