USC Health Sciences Advancement is seeking a Director of Alumni Relations. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Development of Medical Education Fundraising, the Director of Alumni Relations will plan and execute comprehensive alumni services and programs to ensure the continued engagement, and identification, of potential donors and prospects. The Director of Alumni Relations will be responsible for helping manage the relationship between the Keck School of Medicine of USC and its alumni, resident alumni, parents, former faculty and friends, and will serve as a liaison between the university community and this key group of constituents.
Finally, the Director of Alumni Relations requires a candidate with proven leadership abilities, expertise in oral and written communication, superb organizational skills, and an attention to detail. Other key attributes required include the ability to work well as a team player and have strong diplomatic skills.
Essential job duties include, but not limited to:
Plan, coordinate, and attend events, meetings, or other activities as requested. This may also include alumni and volunteer recognition banquets, receptions, homecoming, and reunions.
Develop, coordinate and evaluate programs and projects designed to connect with alumni.
Identify, cultivate, and steward alumni and volunteers.
Assist volunteer leadership to identify potential new volunteers and future leaders.
Collaborate with development officers to share information on events and alumni engagement opportunities.
May lead staff, volunteers, temporary and/or resource workers, as required.
Schedule, assign and prioritize workloads, as needed. Set appropriate deadlines. Ensure timely completion of work.
Attend professional meetings and seminars to enhance professional competence.
Able to coordinate work with variety of people, including student volunteers, university officials, professional recruiters, and potential donors.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
This job requires occasional varying hours, including nights and weekends, to best fit the schedules of our philanthropic partners.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or combined experience/education as substitute
7 years of experience related job field
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
5 years of experience with leadership in volunteer organizations and/or fundraising
Excellent written and verbal skills
Sound judgment and decision making
Diplomacy: ability to cultivate and maintain relationships

Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

The annual base salary range for this position is $ $88,814.00 - $107,000.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
