**Executive Housekeeper**

The Westin Resort Guam - Tumon, GU 4 locations Job details Job Type Full-time Full Job Description Position Purpose

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping department in accordance with local standards and guidelines along with assuring the highest degree of guest care is maintained.

Management

* Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all offices, concourses, seating areas, washrooms, restaurants, concession stands, restrooms, and all public areas

* Planning, organizing and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction

* Daily supervision of the housekeeping associates, including the day, event and post-event crews

* Daily supervision of the public area associates, including the day, event, and post-event crews

* Purchase, re-order, and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory

* Hire, develop, counsel, evaluate and discipline associates in accordance with hotel policies and procedures

* Attend division and department meetings and conduct monthly departmental meetings

* Supervise, direct, coordinate, influence and persuade associates in order to maintain service standards of hotel

* Inspect all housekeeping areas on a regular basis

* Coordinate all housekeeping projects with relevant department heads including but not limited to Front Office Manager and Director of Engineering

Administration

* Recruit, schedule and train all new housekeeping associates

* Prepare and maintain the housekeeping budget, providing billing summaries and expenses for all pre and post events

* Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct

* Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within Housekeeping Department

* Determine and maintain the department work schedule used to notify staff of upcoming events that will ensure proper preparation and staffing of each event

* Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment, makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment

* Purchase, inventory and control all housekeeping supplies and equipment

Customer Service

* Resolve all guest complaints in a timely manner

* Interact in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members

* Respond in a courteous and professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and associate difficulties

Other

* Assist with related duties and special projects as requested

* Attending training sessions set out by the Westin Resort to ensure continued personal development

Supervisory Responsibility

* Supervise and direct the housekeeping associates and make adjustments as needed to maintain service standards

Required Knowledge and Skills

* Thorough knowledge of hotel and housekeeping department operations

* Thorough knowledge of computerized hotel systems

* Ability to coordinate work activities with other departments

* Ability to create, implement and monitor hotel and staff operating standards and procedures and annual objectives

* Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor, and direct associates and managers to meet desired ends

* Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff

* Ability to maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times

* Exceptional oral communication skills to ensure ability to negotiate and persuade guests and staff to achieve results beneficial to operation of hotel

* Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions

* Ability to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions

* Ability to participate in all departmental and hotel-wide meetings

Required Education and Experience

* High school or equivalent education required

* Minimum of 3 year housekeeping or related Rooms Division experience required

* Minimum of 3 year management experience required

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required
