Vice President of Accounting
Kairoi Residential is a multifamily investment, development and property management company headquartered in San Antonio. Since 2003, the partnership has transacted on $6.3 billion across 60,000 multifamily units in many cities and states around the country. We are seeking a candidate who will lead all aspects of the accounting process for our Investment, Development, and Property Management lines of business.
Job Duties:
- Lead and direct a team of accountants in preparing accurate and timely financials for multi-family properties and development projects on behalf of our Clients
- Oversee the accounting and reporting related to the organization’s partnerships, joint ventures, and investments in multi-family real estate
- Oversee corporate accounting, budgeting, cash forecasting, and monthly reporting to the Partners
- Oversee all aspects of the annual audit process to include audit coordination, audit schedules, financial statements with footnotes, accounting memos, and communication with the auditors throughout the year.
- Oversee Federal and State tax reporting for numerous entities
- Manage the monthly draw process for developments and capital expenditures
- Ensure all debt compliance and reporting requirements are met
- Review the accounting related to all acquisitions and dispositions of properties
- Performs technical research and ensures proper GAAP accounting treatment is performed for all transactions
- Review and communicate on the financial performance of properties under management and/or development
- Oversee the financial systems used in the financial reporting process and ensure we are leveraging technology to the fullest extent possible
- Work in coordination with other departments to ensure we are delivering best-in-class service to our communities, our employees, our business partners, and our Clients
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain a documented system of controls over accounting transactions
Position Requirements
- 5 years of Accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven track-record of developing and motivating teams
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow through on tasks until completed
- Proficient in Excel and Word
Preferred Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA)
- Big 4 experience
- Experience in the Real Estate industry
- Experience using Realpage Accounting, MRI, and/or Yardi
