Job Summary

As an Equities Operations Sr. Business Manager at the Executive Director level you will work closely with the Head of Global Equities Operations (GEO) and its leadership team to develop, communicate, implement and control the Operations strategy as well as guide strategic analysis, process improvement, financial analysis and business governance. The Business Manager supports the business end-to-end, helps to implement key initiatives and acts as trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different stakeholders. Besides Operations, the role will be involved in regular interactions with key stakeholders across Front Office, Technology, Finance, Operational Control and Human Resources. As part of J.P. Morgan’s Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), the global Equities business provides a wide range of innovative equities solutions to institutional, investor and issuer clients – from initial public offerings, secondary placements and equity-linked structures to private placements, equity derivatives products, cash equities trading (single stock trading, program trading, and Electronic Client Solutions), as well as Prime Finance (Cash & Synthetic Financing, SBL) and Derivative Clearing services. 

The role is based in New York and it manages a team of 3. It is part of the Digital & Platform Services (D&PS) Finance & Business Management (F&BM) team and reports to the Markets Operations Senior Business Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to the head of Global Equities Operations to facilitate the execution of the business strategy
• Assist in key business, strategic, regulatory and governance priorities for the business
• Develop and oversee business key performance indicators that generate business insights
• Manage the financial planning and forecast process (headcount and expenses) and implement initiatives to support the appropriate financial discipline across the team
• Ensure the integrity of financials as well as promoting improvements and enhancements in financial reporting and transparency
• Communicate business strategy, performance and priorities at key forums; translate Executive ideas into a compelling storyboard
• Deliver high quality, consistent and meaningful executive reporting and analytics to identify trends and themes to support business decisions

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• 10 years’ work experience. Equities/Prime Finance background and overall local market knowledge 
• Business Management / COO experience
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
• Good judgment, maturity, and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management
• Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
• Strong project management skills
• Self-starter able to prioritize key tasks effectively
• Energetic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure - must enjoy the challenge of working within a fast-paced and demanding working environment
