Job Details
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our automated machinery at customer sites. This role requires a strong background in PLC troubleshooting, as well as proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission automated equipment at customer sites according to specifications and guidelines.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on automated machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with PLCs, mechanical components, electrical systems, and other related equipment to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and parts inventory, utilizing company systems and procedures.
Customer Support: Provide technical support and assistance to customers, including training on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and product development, to communicate customer feedback, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to product enhancements.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations while performing service activities, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role working with wrappers, baggers, weighing machines, cartoners, conveying systems, other types of Form Fill and Seal equipment
Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming, with experience working with brands such as Allen-Bradley
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical components such as conveyors, motors, and pneumatic systems.
Sound understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, including occasional overnight stays as required.
