Position Overview:
· We are currently seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Technician to join our dynamic team.
· The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks related to IT infrastructure, including rack & stack, cabling, decommissioning, parts replacements, and cable troubleshooting.
· This role primarily involves IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) work on various devices, including Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, NetApp storage solutions, Dell servers and storage, Pure Storage arrays, Citrix servers, and HP storage devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Rack & Stack:
· Install and configure hardware equipment such as servers, switches, firewalls, and storage devices into racks
· Ensure proper organization and placement of equipment for optimal performance and accessibility.
Cabling:
· Install, manage, and maintain network cables to establish connections between devices.
· Follow structured cabling standards to ensure reliability and minimize interference.
Decommissioning:
· Properly remove hardware equipment from racks and decommission it from the network when necessary.
· Adhere to established procedures and industry best practices for decommissioning activities.
Parts Replacements:
· Respond promptly to requests for parts replacements, coordinating with customers to acquire necessary components.
· Perform hardware component replacements for various devices, minimizing downtime and disruption.
Cable Troubleshooting:
· Identify and resolve issues related to network cabling, including connectivity problems and cable damage.
· Utilize troubleshooting tools and techniques to diagnose and rectify cable-related issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in IT infrastructure support, with expertise in rack & stack, cabling, and hardware maintenance.
· Familiarity with Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, NetApp storage solutions, Dell servers and storage, Pure Storage arrays, Citrix servers, and HP storage devices.
· Strong understanding of network cabling principles and structured cabling standards.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues effectively.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interface with customers effectively.
