Job Summary:
As the Director of Infrastructure Services with a specialized focus on low voltage cabling, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of all low voltage cabling projects within our organization. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure the design, installation, and maintenance of low voltage cabling infrastructure meet organizational needs and industry standards. Your role will involve strategic planning, project management, team leadership, and collaboration with other departments to support the organization's technological infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for low voltage cabling infrastructure to support the organization's current and future technology needs.
Project Management: Oversee all aspects of low voltage cabling projects from initiation to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of low voltage cabling professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance management to ensure project success and professional development.
Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on low voltage cabling technologies, standards, best practices, and emerging trends, providing guidance and recommendations to support decision-making.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, facilities, and security, to ensure seamless integration of low voltage cabling infrastructure with other organizational systems and initiatives.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers involved in low voltage cabling projects, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements, quality standards, and project requirements.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all low voltage cabling projects comply with relevant regulations, codes, standards, and industry best practices, including safety regulations and building codes.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of low voltage cabling infrastructure, including design specifications, installation plans, as-built drawings, and inventory records. Prepare regular reports on project status, performance metrics, and budget expenditures.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and innovation in low voltage cabling practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks and issues associated with low voltage cabling projects, implementing proactive measures to ensure project success and minimize disruptions to operations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in information technology, electrical engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
· Proven experience (7 years) in infrastructure services management, with a focus on low voltage cabling projects.
· Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams, projects, and budgets.
· In-depth knowledge of low voltage cabling technologies, standards (e.g., TIA/EIA), and installation practices.
· Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute complex projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
· Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
· Certifications such as RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
· Strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
