Location: Pontiac, MI 48302
Schedule: Monday - Friday & In-Office (Could be flexible to hybrid schedule)
Hours: 8am - 5pm (Could Be flexible)
Compensation: $35/hr - $40/hr
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision while on contract & full benefits on a permanent basis

Sanford Rose is assisting our business partner a rapidly growing retail organization in their search of an Accounts Payable Supervisor who could come in and immediately assist their growing team. This opportunity is an open ended contract with potential of becoming long term or hired full time.

AP Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing the month-end A/P closing and distribution of appropriate reports.
• Monitor, review, and ensure accuracy of all A/P transactions.
• Respond to all A/P audit inquires.
• Mentor, direct, coach, train and evaluate A/P Team.
• Lead and review timely Credit Balance Report and other management reports as assigned.
• Point person for management and documentation of all records retention.
• Become expert on special processing/reporting and controls for buyer banks, OnePay processing and reconciliations
• Insure all certificate of insurance and W-9 are on file and current for all vendors
• Become resident expert in all AP workflows and develop/update a written policy and procedure manual for all processes
• Ensure all manual inventory cost changes are done timely and accurately.
• Ensure all debit memos and returns are processed weekly and corresponding vendor credit memos are received and deducted from disbursements timely as well monitor that all discounts are taken.
• Ensure AP team reconciles all vendor statements and resolves discrepancies on a monthly basis.
• Work towards mastering and documenting all vendor program concepts including co-op advertising, trailing credits, scan-downs, spiffs, financing participation, etc. concepts. Work towards to becoming a back-up for processing advertising co-op.
• Assist with developing and distributing periodic management reports on AP aging and vendor programs.
• Lead monthly review meetings of AP aging with AP Coordinators and Buyers to get resolution to issues preventing timely processing of invoices, credits, discounts, etc.
• Participate in periodic in on-site physical inventories 4 – 6 times a year on scheduled week-end days.

Requirements:

• Bachelor-level degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
• 5 years’ experience in a high-volume A/P environment with at least 2 years serving in a leadership capacity
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, analyze and resolve issues
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize work flow according to demands
• Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, maintain high-level of confidentiality, and make decisions independently
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access skills
• Strong leadership skills; experience leading a large diverse group a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Experience with ERP system(s), data mining, modeling, and analysis a plus
• Knowledge of EDI payment processing a plus
• Demonstrated ability to consistently produce a quality work product while meeting expectations and deadlines
