PURPOSE/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Serves as the central point of contact for volunteers. Responsibilities include intake and onboarding process, volunteer program coordination, community outreach and engagement, and volunteer recruitment and retention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & COMPETENCIES

• Maintain and grow volunteer base through outreach to individuals, community-based organizations and groups, colleges/universities, and corporations as needed.
• Work closely with all program and department managers to periodically assess needs for volunteer expertise and level of volunteer staffing
• Develop and maintain process to
  • review applications
  • assess interests/skills of volunteers and match with appropriate activities
• Manage comprehensive orientation process for new volunteers that includes:
  • information about volunteering at JFS (handbook, website)
  • criteria for involvement (based on JFS needs)
  • update handbook and website as necessary
• Work closely with all program and department managers to ensure that
  • volunteer positions are sufficiently filled to meet JFS needs and
  • volunteers and enjoy a positive experience
• Maintain daily volunteer scheduling on Giveffect
• Provide accurate and timely volunteer data for volunteer-related reports
• Engage with existing volunteers daily and provide feedback and additional guidance as needed
• Maintain ongoing communications with volunteers through email, newsletters, and phone calls.
• Plan and execute volunteer appreciation and training activities
• Develop and administer annual volunteer satisfaction survey; compile and report results
• Oversee the Americorp VISTA program to make sure that all policies and procedures are being followed

• Regularly communicate with the Development team to ensure programs, events, and services are properly marketed.

Bachelor’s degree, 2 years’ experience in a related field.
