Description

Join our Team at the Grand Opening of the New Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club!

We are gearing up for our grand opening (with training starting the second week of April and an estimated opening date in early May) and looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join our team. Located in Central Phoenix, the Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a welcoming golf club atmosphere. We want our members and guests to receive an unforgettable dining experience. In addition to our Restaurant and Market, we will be hosting a variety of banquets and events in creating memorable experiences.

Job Summary

The Bartender’s purpose is to serve beverages by providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and contributing to the overall success of the Adobe Clubhouse’s food and beverage outlets.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee’s position.

Customer Service:

  • Greet guests / members in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Answer questions about the available alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Make recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Provide information about clubhouse events and promotions.
  • Checking identification to verify the legal drinking age of guests and refusing service to intoxicated individuals in a professional-like manner. Seeking management assistance, as appropriate.
  • Answer guests questions and resolve any guest complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Mixing and Serving Drinks:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including beers, wines, cocktails, soft drinks, etc. ensuring that all drinks are served promptly and responsibly.
  • Use appropriate tools, such as jiggers or measuring spoons, to ensure accuracy in measurements.

Order Taking:

  • Take orders accurately through the POS system.
  • Suggest additional items such as appetizers and increase revenue?.

Bar Maintenance:

  • Keep the bar area clean and well-maintained throughout the shift, including wiping down counters, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies.
  • Perform opening or closing cleaning and sanitizing duties, securing the bar area, and completing opening or ending of shift tasks as required.

Cash Handling and Payment Processing:

  • Handle payment process accurately and timely.
  • Transfer open bar tab to restaurant, as needed.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of beverages, mixers and other bar supplies, ensuring that stock is replenished as necessary, and waste is minimized.

Other:

  • May be scheduled to work at banquet events.
  • Participates in pre-shift meetings, taste tests, and training.
  • Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Follow good personal hygiene guidelines.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum two years related bartending experience and/or training preferred
  • Experience in a golf club-like environment preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional service should be friendly, approachable, and attentive.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration: Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, and other restaurant staff.
  • Strong communication skills including effective listening.
  • Highly organized to manage multiple guests.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes.
  • Ability to remain calm during peak hours or challenging guests or members.
  • Comfortable in upselling.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of food and beverage handling regulations.

Computer Skills

Required:

  • Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) System
  • Ability to use employee self-service on company’s human resources/payroll database

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Required: Position may utilize golf carts; thus, must have a valid driver’s license.

Unexpired Arizona food and liquor certifications. Must meet age requirements to handle and serve alcoholic beverages. Must be at least 19 years of age.

Other

Regular attendance is required. Additional hours including weekends may be required on a regular basis to fulfill duties of position. At times, an individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and manual dexterity in combination with eye/hand coordination. Auditory abilities required by this job include the ability to accurately hear information conveyed to guests and members and the ability to work effectively in areas with ambient noise. The work environment is subject to interruptions, varying and unpredictable situations and time pressures related to multiple tasks. It also requires regular use of a point-of-sale terminal. There is extensive repetitive motion in using hands/wrists.

Work Environment

This position primarily works both indoors and outdoors. At times, extreme temperatures may be part of the environment.

Work requires exposure to temperatures sufficiently high to cause bodily discomfort. The noise level is usually moderate.

Schedules vary and may include weekends, holidays, etc. as determined by business needs.

OSHA Category

Category I: Position engages in activities that with a high risk of coming into direct contact with blood and body fluids for which specific precautions must be taken. This position has been identified as Category I as it is most likely to attend to kitchen burns, accidents, or injuries.
