Ivymount is Hiring a Human Resources Associate Near Potomac, MD

For over 60 years, Ivymount School and Programs has been a leader in the field of special education, serving students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, whose needs cannot be met in the public school system. Every day, we witness the profound impact our work has on the lives of individuals with unique learning needs.

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for supporting Ivymount staff throughout the employment lifecycle with a specific focus on onboarding and orientation, along with general administrative support to the Staff Services Department. This is a full-time, 240 work day position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for staff to facilitate access to resources, answer frequently asked questions and provide support related to Human Resources
  • Assist with new staff onboarding and orientation
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all new staff in completion of onboarding requirements
  • Track completion and review documents that require clearance (e.g., background check, driving record)
  • Create/organize needed materials for new staff (e.g., badge, key, technology)
  • Register/assign new staff training (e.g., ALICE, CPR/First Aid, Paycom Learning modules)
  • Maintain/update all databases, spreadsheets and electronic personnel files
  • Monitor and manage designated email accounts
  • Perform procurement responsibilities for the organization (e.g., fulfill Purchase Requests, complete conference/hotel registrations, support invoice/credit card statement reconciliation)
  • Provide administrative support to the Staff Services Department and support department projects as assigned
  • Perform monthly audits of staff data bases and spreadsheets to ensure compliance
  • Annually update all documents and checklists required for the upcoming year for the Staff Resources Portal and online platforms
  • Assist with the execution of the annual Benefits Fair and ongoing wellness events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field preferred OR 3 years’ experience in human resources, business administration or related field
  • Experience providing administrative support, specific to human resource functions preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with a strong sense of customer service and professionalism
  • Ability to exercise and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently while prioritize workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Highly proficient computer skills in all key Microsoft Office applications, specifically Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • General knowledge of Human Resources practices preferred
  • Experience with onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee data management preferred
  • Familiarity with online human resources/payroll software, Paycom preferred
  • Experience in a school or non-profit setting preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
