Web Architects develop and deploy system architectures and integration solutions between different platforms, development languages, databases and user interfaces based on customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to work with end-users and managers to be able to understand business requirements and provide guidance for system architecture selection. Web Architects will be responsible for project management, requirements definition, platform selection, package selection, development language selection, system integration, system design, database analysis, and testing.
Additional Responsibilities:
Manage the project through the design, build, and release phases of the project; Manage and control client expectations; Keep detailed project log of all project activity; Document and communicate ‘red flag issues’; Support the project team needs and translate technical issues to client; Create and maintain project plan, cost estimates, budgets, schedules, scope documents, risk assessments, specification documents; Act as liaison between the project team and the client; Monitor project progress against budget and schedule and take corrective measures as needed; Work with account and project team to determine, communicate, and document project strategies, functional design, look and feel, technical requirements, Q/A and maintenance needs; Manage and control the change-order process; Identify potential problems or issues and take preventative or corrective actions; To be able to manage many tasks at one time and keep up with aggressive schedules.
Experience/Skills:
Minimum of 5 years technical experience with technologies such as Java Web Architecture, Microsoft Web Architecture, Middleware design, Database design, and mapping EJB’s to Relational Databases. Also have extensive knowledge with ODBC/OLEDB, SQL Server, or Oracle. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows NT, UNIX, Microsoft Internet Information Server, Netscape Enterprise Server and/or Apache. Understanding of Linux or OS/400 a plus. Previous consulting experience a plus.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’s/and or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, business is desired.Senior Web Architect Description
