Description
Operates multiple varieties of forklift vehicles to transport materials to assigned destination. May load or unload trucks as required. Operates under specific detailed instructions; refers changes in schedule or problems to supervisor.
Requirements
· Load and unload delivery trucks.
· Operate Forklifts in safe manner.
· Service printing press timely with material to minimize press down times.
· Transport finished goods to warehouse for shipping or storage in overhead racks.
· Assist in daily warehouse activities.
· Verify inventory locations, quantities, size, etc. as needed.
· Consolidate freight in the warehouses.
· Prepare scrap skids for pick up.
· Maintain and accurately document job numbers, counts, weight, destinations, etc.
· Responsible for compliance with all regulatory, facility food safety, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs) policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
· Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
· Must be forklift certified.
· Must demonstrate the ability to work in fast paced environment often with shipping deadlines.
· Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form.
· Must have good math skills to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurements, volume, and other quantities.
Essential Functions:
· Must be able to safely operate a forklift while performing such tasks as loading, and unloading trucks, transferring loads to and from the warehouse, stacking skids and placing material in racks.
· Must be able to safely relocate heavy items in a timely manner by either physical or mechanical means.
· Must have reading, writing and general math skills, which permit employee to read press or bag machine orders, material labels and select correct material for production in correct quantities.
· Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed instructions without constant supervision.
· Must have maturity and disposition to operate safely.
· Must have organizational skills to correctly locate or place material in warehouse, to account for materials in transition from one area of warehouse to another and calculate material use by production. Must be able to record this information for accounting.
· Reflexes must be in excellent condition for quick response time on moving machinery. Employee must be able to react to rapidly moving parts in order to avoid serious injury to him/her. Employee must be completely alert at all times to operate forklift in a proper manner.
· Must inspect materials entering warehouse for any defects and use judgment whether to accept these materials. Must inspect materials leaving warehouse to see that they are properly wrapped and protected for shipping.
