Intercommunity Care Center is seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to play a key role in managing our nursing services. The ADON will assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the daily operations of our nursing staff, ensuring that the highest standards of care are provided to our adult and elderly residents with cognitive impairments and dementia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geriatric nursing, management experience, and a passion for improving the quality of care and operations in a skilled nursing facility
setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the DON in supervising the nursing staff and overseeing the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
• Help to develop and implement nursing department policies and procedures in accordance with current regulations.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participate in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel.
• Oversee the coordination of resident care, working closely with interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage patient care planning, including assessments and the development of individualized care plans.
• Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to resident care or staff performance.
• Assist with budgeting and resource management for the nursing department.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a leader and role model for the nursing staff, fostering a culture of compassion,
• professionalism, and excellence in care.
• Step in for the DON as needed and carry out responsibilities in the absence of the DON.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience, with at least one year in a supervisory or
• management role in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in geriatric nursing and a thorough understanding of the unique care needs of
• elderly residents with cognitive impairments and dementia.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide nursing staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on conflict resolution and
• team building.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and
• guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working Conditions:
• The ADON will work in a dynamic long-term care environment.
• This role requires walking, standing for extended periods, and providing direct patient care as
• necessary.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
