Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the overall nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of care are met, and promoting a culture of excellence within the facility. This position requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional clinical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to our residents.
2. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that align with regulatory standards and best practices in the nursing field.
3. Manage and supervise nursing staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
4. Collaborate with other department heads and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective coordination of care and services.
5. Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans to promote optimal health outcomes.
6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate measures.
7. Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies, including federal, state, and local regulations.
8. Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and professional growth.
9. Participate in budget development and manage nursing department resources efficiently.
10. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in nursing practices, technology, and regulations, and ensure staff are informed and trained accordingly.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or higher. Master's degree in nursing or healthcare administration is preferred.
2. Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
3. Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
4. Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and regulations, including infection control, quality improvement, and resident rights.
5. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
6. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
7. Demonstrated understanding of financial management and budgeting.
8. Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
9. Ability to handle multiple priorities, adapt to change, and work well under pressure.
10. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to skilled nursing facilities.
