Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Engineer for a large engineering Client in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will provide substation protection and control design, engineering, technical support, and oversight to a transmission substation engineering and design team. They will deliver safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services and provide technical competency and direction for projects including a wide range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems and solar collector substations.

1. Advanced understanding of protection and control fundamentals as they apply to utility substation and transmission line equipment
2. Proficient in design of protection schemes for substation and transmission line equipment, including bus, line, capacitor and transformer design and protection schemes and associated settings
3. Basic understanding of substation design to include equipment arrangements.
4. Create substation P&C design project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects
5. Ability to read, interpret, design, and engineer P&C designs for utility stations through 500kV, including one lines, three lines, AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and settings
6. Ability to perform studies and create reports for coordination, voltage drop, fault current, and insulation coordination
7. Visit sites, advise on P&C engineering issues, and modify design to solve issues during construction and manage budgets and project schedule

MUST HAVES:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
2. 5-10 years as an electrical engineer with experience in protection and control
3. Must be a certified EIT or PE (PE is preferred)
4. Experience designing within utilities (substation, transmission line equipment, transformer)
5. Experience using AutoCAD
