OverviewSince 1979, Insight for Living Ministries (IFLM) has been committed to excellence in teaching the study and application of God’s Word. Pastor Chuck Swindoll and his wife, Cynthia, began the ministry by broadcasting Pastor Chuck’s Bible-teaching program, Insight for Living, on 18 stations. Today, the program airs on more than 2,000 stations, can be streamed through various online channels, and can be heard in 70 countries and eight languages.
We also produce quality Bible-study resources, have a dynamic online presence, provide pastoral counseling, and actively walk alongside listeners through life’s challenges. As a ministry, we’re committed to Vision 195, our strategic mission to pursue Jesus’ Great Commission by extending God’s grace and making disciples in all 195 countries and their 6,875 heart languages.
In addition to our international headquarters in Frisco, Texas, we currently have ministry offices in 10 countries, where our pastors translate resources, train church leaders to use Pastor Chuck’s Searching the Scriptures Bible-study methods, serve their communities, and pursue Vision 195 in their languages. Position SummaryThe Human Resources assistant promotes and supports the mission of IFLM by providing key support for all functional areas pertaining to the Human Resources Department. This individual assists the Human Resources team in various functions, including administrative support, recruiting, benefit administration, payroll administration, compensation review, and performance evaluation administration. A motivated self-starter, the Human Resources assistant is expected to complete the highest quality work while helping ensure that ministry staff members are engaged and provided for in a caring and trustworthy manner.
Core Job FunctionsAdministration (35%)
  • Updates the department project-management platform on a regular basis and keeps department on track for project completion
  • Creates checklists for new and recurring projects
  • Assists the Human Resources manager with various special projects, researches data, and researches new or changing labor laws
  • Handles all departmental electronic, physical, and benefit files, ensuring detailed accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ensures accurate implementation of the Record Retention Policy within the department
  • Composes and edits correspondence on behalf of the department
  • Posts approved content on IFLM LinkedIn page
  • Maintains IFLM LinkedIn page and monitors for constituent comments and feedback
  • Performs general administrative duties for the Human Resources Department as requested
Benefits and Payroll Administration (20%)
  • Updates benefit portals
  • Reconciles benefit bills
  • Ensures HRIS/payroll entries and changes are made timely and accurately
  • Researches state taxes and related accounts for out-of-state employees
  • Assists with filing short-term disability, long-term disability, life, and worker’s compensation claims
  • Sends annual benefit notices as required
  • Assists with preparation of the benefit open-enrollment meeting
  • Administers employee wellness program
Recruiting (20%)
  • Posts and manages job-board listings through applicant tracking system
  • Places positions on appropriate and relevant networks
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested
  • Administers candidate assessments and tests
  • Assists with obtaining references and background checks
  • Researches and suggests new talent pools
  • Coordinates IFLM’s New Hire Orientation Process
Compensation Administration (5%)
  • Assists with pricing new positions in alignment with IFLM’s compensation philosophy
  • Assists with completing salary surveys
  • Assists with IFLM’s bi-annual compensation review of all positions
Performance Evaluation Administration (5%)
  • Administers IFLM performance-evaluation system
  • Sends managers monthly e-mail alerts and reminders
  • Ensures all documents (evaluation forms, job profiles, and signed policies) are submitted and completed accurately
Professional Development (5%)
  • Commits to the challenges of growth and development according to the Professional Development Plan
  • Pursues the designated knowledge and/or experience with a positive attitude
  • Completes assigned tasks with excellence and in a timely manner
Team-Member Contribution (10%)
  • Models IFLM’s core values through daily conduct
  • Exerts initiative and drive to improve departmental and organizational operations
  • Owns problems, creates solutions, and maintains personal accountability for results
Position SpecificationsJob Qualifications
  • 1–2 years’ experience in human resources or administrative assistant role
  • Associate degree or equivalent training in related field
  • Extremely professional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence, along with the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to details and excellent organizational skills
  • Humility, a high level of flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others
  • Strong customer-service orientation and demeanor
  • Excellent phone presence with the ability to set meetings in a highly professional, polite, and warm manner
  • An ability to anticipate and prioritize work
  • An ability to research and stay abreast of company policies and employment and benefit laws
  • An understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Previous HRIS experience a plus
  • This is a part-time position (24 hours per week) on-site, Tuesday through Thursday
