Infinia ML is Hiring a Sales Engineer Near Durham, NC

The Company

An investor-backed startup located in the Raleigh-Durham area, Infinia ML works with Fortune 500 companies, government partners, and healthcare innovators to apply machine learning techniques to their data challenges. Our work is primarily focused on automated document processing, where we automate workflows that have traditionally required human-level understanding of written content. We are building a flexible, standardized platform for the processing of that written content in documents - think medical records, invoices, insurance claims, emails, etc.

Our technical team is led by Chief Scientist Lawrence Carin, Ph.D., one of the world’s foremost experts on machine learning. As our data scientists build ML algorithms and data processing pipelines, our engineers need to package that technology into consumable software.

The Role

Infinia ML is seeking a Sales Engineer with a desire to join a growing company focused on cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and deep learning technology. We provide our customers immediate value through our technology solutions which are tailored to their data and business needs, in domains ranging from healthcare to human resources and business intelligence. With the use of exciting ML techniques such as natural language processing, optical character recognition, and document extraction we deliver impactful business insights to customers. 

As part of our Business Development team, you will collaborate with colleagues in sales and marketing to understand customers’ business challenges and educate them on how Infinia ML’s platform can meet their technical needs. We are looking for individuals who are excited about being exposed to new problems and challenges while working in a flexible and versatile environment.

Typical activities will include:

  • Collaborate with Business Development to uncover business and technical challenges related to documents and business processes
  • Deliver sales demonstrations that clearly articulate our platform capabilities and technology to prospects
  • Scope and manage technical components of customer proof of concepts evaluations, including platform configuration for proof of concept evaluations.
  • Solve for common (and uncommon) technical challenges to integrating and using our intelligent document processing platform in prospect's applications
  • Address our prospects' technical questions on how our technology works and on data security and workflow considerations
  • Advise on how to best implement and integrate our platform into upstream and downstream applications as part of a customer’s end-to-end data pipeline
  • Provide feedback and escalate deal-blocking issues to Product and Technical teams
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to ensure technical documentation and sales collateral remains current and relevant to customer audiences
  • Respond to RFI/RFP/Security documentation and questionnaire requests

Technologies we use:

  • Restful APIs and SaaS platforms
  • Container based technologies including Docker, Kubernetes and cloud native solutions
  • AWS, Azure, and other cloud providers as needed
  • Elasticsearch, Kibana, Vault, Git, CI/CD 
  • Python, JavaScript and Go

Preferred candidates will have:

  • 2 years of mid market (or above) software selling experience
  • 1 years of direct pre-sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Experience with some of the languages, frameworks and technologies listed above and with integrating SaaS application data integrations (REST APIs, data flows, etc.)
  • A strong sense of intellectual curiosity and willingness to work with and learn new technologies as required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver technical sales presentations
  • Clear focus on customers and delivering a high-quality customer experience
  • Outstanding problem solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player mentality
