Responsible for performing a variety of human resource activities supporting the corporate employees and other contract employees and programs supported by the Shared Service HR Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Shared Services Talent Management function to include Employee Relations, Performance Management, Conducts Employee Orientations (when appropriate) and processes all new hire paperwork.
  • Manages compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Reviews Policies and Procedures to maintain compliance.
  • May set up new hires and updates employee personnel/payroll/benefit information in HRIS system.
  • Assists with new contract transitions and contract close-outs.
  • Assist with administering and maintaining all records for the Affirmative Action Plan for all Shared Service supported programs.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as required.
  • Oversees employee investigations, disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Updates and maintains all position descriptions.
  • Other jobs as assigned.

Educational/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 to 6 years of Human Resources experience
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) preferred

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Intermediate knowledge of laws & regulations in human resources and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization/leadership, research, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with all employee levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and working knowledge of HRIS (preferably Deltek - Costpoint)
  • Experience working in government contractor environment

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office environment

Physical Demands:

  • Walking, siting, typing, bending and lifting items as required within position requirements

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to set priorities for each day
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to set and meet goals
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Security Clearance if required
  • Must have current Driver's License
  • Travel - 20%
  • Able to work extended hours, nights, weekends.
