Responsibilities:
·Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions (exempt and non-exempt); collaborates with the HR coordinator and departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
·Assists with the onboarding of new hires: conducts or acquires background checks, employee eligibility verifications, and processes new hire paperwork.
·Implements new hire orientation (including benefits overviews) and employee recognition programs.
·Processes terminations and separations.
·Assist current employees and new hires with any questions in regards to health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
·Assists with payroll related functions, utilizing the company’s current HRIS system.
·Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
·Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
·Performs other administrative tasks and necessary duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Skills:
·High School diploma or equivalent required.
·Two years’ experience in the field of human resources and/or benefits coordination required.
·Experience with day-to-day benefits administration required.
·Full cycle recruitment experience required.
·Experience in a warehouse, distribution, and/or food processing environment strongly preferred.
·Experience in working with a union environment strongly preferred.
·Detailed oriented.
·Demonstrates high emotional intelligence.
·Strong analytical skills to conduct and analyze reports.
·Computer Skills: MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and ADP or similar HRIS systems required.
·Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates strong professionalism.
