ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to help manage our accounting function. This includes but is not limited to, managing day-to-day accounting operations, enforcing accounting policies and procedures, and assisting with process improvements that will drive automation and efficiency within the accounting function. We are looking for a positive communicator who is creative, solution-focused, and very comfortable with data analysis in Excel.
This position is based in Dallas, TX, and reports to the Controller
ACCOUNTING MANAGER ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands-on management of daily accounting operations
- Oversees and manages Accounts Payable including employee expense reports and corporate credit cards
- Own the month-end close process including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and roll forwards to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the financials
- Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and process improvements in the financial close process
- Create and document standard operating procedures and overall internal financial controls
- Assist with the implementation and enforcement of internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments on various initiatives related to business and financial performance
- Maintain knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Train, manage, and mentor lower-level staff
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- A minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a must; CPA-preferred
- 5 years’ experience in job related role showing progressive growth in responsibilities
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes, and controls
- Experience in a multi-subsidiary environment
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications. Intermediate Excel skills required VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, etc.)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate analytically with all levels of personnel and management
- Experience with NetSuite or other advanced ERP systems preferred
