Requirements
- Support the Director of Accounting in leading the Water Services and Operations and Land and Resource Management segments of the business.
- Oversee the overall month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process.
- Manage and continually develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Provide strong, hands-on leadership, mentoring, coaching, and development to direct reports.
- Foster a culture of continuous process improvement.
- Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert for Land and Water segment revenues and expenses.
- Work alongside the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting in analyzing and interpreting complex contracts in accordance with ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.
- Participate in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual flux analyses.
- Review, investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities as they arise.
- Utilize business intelligence tools to provide clear, concise, and efficient ad hoc reports and research.
- Manage both internal and external audits of financial statements and SOX controls.
- Spearhead the design, implementation, and continual improvement of SOX controls.
- Develop relationships across the organization to facilitate information sharing and proper accounting for transactions.
- Familiarize oneself with the company’s legal entities and overall business.
- GAAP familiarity, in-depth and current
- Experience in preparing accounting support and documentation to support both internal and external audits.
- Previous experience in at least a manager-level role managing multiple direct reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Masters/MBA preferred
- Current CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Prior leadership experience within an oil and gas-focused organization
