About:
A top international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Litigation department in their New York, New York office.
The firm is well established with 7 offices worldwide and a platform of over 400 attorneys. The team has experience working on matters in both national and international disputes. The groups representational experience includes civil fraud, complex cross-border disputes, consumer class action, and multi-district litigation.
Experience:
- Candidates must have over 3 years of experience in a relevant law firm setting.
- Experience with all aspects of class action litigation, including drafting and responding to complaints, discovery, motion practice, trials, and appeals, and have strong research and writing skills.
- Experience handling high-stake litigation for sophisticated clients around the globe.
- Familiarity with working on matters at both a national and international level.
- Familiarity with managing electronic discovery, including managing document collections and vendors is a plus.
- Experience with depositions, motion practice, and handling oral arguments is a plus.
- Trial experience is beneficial.
- Excellent academic records, as well as superb skills in writing, communication, interpersonal, and analytical.
- A relevant Juris Doctorate Degree is a must have.
Responsibilities:
- Managing complex disputes, including running discovery.
- Drafting and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other documents.
- Taking and defending depositions and related work with witnesses and experts.
- Working on all aspects of disputes from inception through trial and appeal.
- Supporting the team on business development and other litigation-related matters.
