Overview
Responsible for the processing and verification of invoices to ensure accurate payment of all legitimate invoices on a timely basis.
Responsibilities
- Match invoices to receiving documents.
- Verifies invoices for quantity, unit price and discounts.
- Assigns the appropriate account numbers to invoices to ensure the proper distribution in financial statements.
- Assigns dates for invoices to be paid.
- Issues checks in accordance as scheduled or upon special request as directed by the Controller.
- Communicates with suppliers regarding errors or questions on invoices.
- Research vendor statements, phone calls and discrepancies.
- Verify month-end totals on account distribution, cash disbursements and open items.
- Post invoices into the computer system.
- Generate accounts payable and refund checks.
- File paid and unpaid invoices and statements.
- Organize and match returns paperwork.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of related experience
- High school graduate or equivalent; College Degree in related field a plus
- Ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy
- Proficiency in Word and Excel (Oracle a plus)
- Able to work in team environment.
