Purpose of VisitPITTSBURGH

VisitPITTSBURGH is a tourism development organization dedicated to expanding the tourism economy across Allegheny County. The organization is dedicated to generating positive economic impact across our primary tourism verticals of business events, sports events and leisure travel. VisitPITTSBURGH achieves its goals, including ensuring the region of certain economic benefits, through the combined efforts of all team members throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

• Plan and carry out strategy for recruiting new paid partners to VisitPITTSBURGH.
• Act in a consultative approach toward VisitPITTSBURGH partners and potential partners; understanding their needs, concerns, and opportunities, offering solutions from VisitPITTSBURGH that will assist partner in generating business.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business or marketing, or equivalent knowledge is preferred.
  • An associate degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Three to five years of B2B selling experience, preferably within hospitality.
• This position requires exceptional time, prioritization, organizational and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail in all interactions with VisitPITTSBURGH partners, stakeholders, Board members, and internal colleagues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, to accomplish goals and objectives through close working relationships with VisitPITTSBURGH Partners.
• Outstanding communication skills, an individual who can tactfully, diplomatically, and effectively communicate with external partners and internal colleagues, in person, by phone, and in writing. Develop and compose certain written materials and successfully handle various inquiries.
• Strong customer service and support competencies
• Represent VisitPITTSBURGH at partner networking events, i.e.: Annual Meeting, Hospitality Celebration Event, State of the Hotel Industry Event, Partner Holiday Event, and other networking opportunities with the hospitality industry.
• Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and Excel, and the operation of a computer and various other office machines is required. Knowledge of iDSS or other Customer Relations Management system is preferred.
• Infrequent travel by air may be required, as well as attendance at some special events.
• Regular travel by car within the Pittsburgh area may be required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
