ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

At Capital Forest Products, we’re a one-stop-shop for premium building materials, and we provide outstanding commitment and service to our customers. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounts Payable Specialist will assist with monitoring the outflow of capital and ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable for Capital Forest Products.

This is an onsite position based out of our corporate headquarters in the charming Eastport Village in Annapolis, MD.

Key Priorities and Responsibilities:

• Process check runs and electronic payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Set up new vendors in Capital Forest Products’ ERP system and maintain vendor files.
• Prepare monthly vendor reconciliations.
• Assist with accounting records and ledgers, including by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
• Verify accuracy of freight and other invoices to purchase orders.
• Ensure proper coding and approval of invoices and office expenses.
• Maintain effective, timely, and professional communication with accounting team, other Capital Forest Products staff, and vendors, including to resolve questions regarding invoices, pricing, etc. 
• Scan all invoices into accounts payable system and document storage system.
• Maintain working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Is This You:

• High school diploma or GED. 
• 5 years of accounts payable experience.
• Experience using an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. 
• Flexible and can quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, with excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
• Punctual, reliable, mature, and trustworthy.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively with a dispersed accounting team. 
• Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Terrific Total Compensation Package:

• Annual starting salary of $45,000 to $50,000, commensurate with experience
