Job Description
The Threshold Marketing Coordinator is primarily responsible for executing the marketing and messaging plan for Threshold, a service of HOM, Inc. Specifically, this position will implement the marketing strategy to increase Threshold’s presence and brand value in the real estate and multifamily industries with the goal of engaging, recruiting, and retaining residential property owners and operators. The Threshold Communications Coordinator will achieve this by designing marketing materials, coordinating social and mass media initiatives, and organizing events, among other responsibilities. The position collaborates closely with the Director of Landlord Relations and other team members in the Landlord Relations Department. The Threshold Marketing Coordinator is a non-exempt position.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Landlord Relations and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the success and relevance of Threshold in meeting the property recruitment needs of the community’s homeless housing programs.
- Execute and maintain a marketing content calendar, including oversight of the publishing schedule, proofing materials, and contributing to creative ideation.
- Skillfully design engaging electronic and printed content tailored to specific audiences, including staying current and using best practices specific to each social media platform or medium. Manage relevant social media accounts including monitoring comments and responding to inquiries in a helpful manner, consistent with the Threshold Brand Tone.
- Serve as primary Point of Contact for media, external marketing inquiries, and marketing-related vendors. This includes maintaining vendor accounts and membership, and sourcing brand designed products.
- Serve as primary Point of Contact and coordinate marketing and outreach events as needed, including reserving venues, ordering supplied goods and collateral, maintaining vendor accounts and memberships, and general event coordination.
- Contextualize Threshold’s messaging identity and recent service updates for all HOM staff to develop an organization-wide culture of Threshold brand ambassadorship through internal communications and resources.
Additional Responsibilities Dependent on Candidate’s Expertise
- Creatively develop a wide range of written and designed web, email, and printed material aligned with the marketing strategy to achieve marketing and engagement goals, while performing to HOM, Inc.’s standard as a world-class, industry-leading organization.
- Skillfully design engaging electronic and printed content tailored to specific audiences, including staying current and using best practices specific to each social media platform or medium.
- Develop and maintain designed resource documents for service provider partners, funders, and community leaders including presentations, reference guides, and program outcome reports.
- Provide expert writing, proofreading, and editing with initiatives within the Landlord Relations Department, while supporting other projects throughout HOM as needed.
- Create digestible, useful informational videos for all stakeholders and their respective involvement with Threshold, including HOM staff messaging, case manager program trainings, and landlord-focused marketing for partner-specific initiatives.
- Manage and organize own activities to ensure deliverables are completed by assigned deadlines, including tasks that require coordination with other team members.
Requirements

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Planner, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Education and Training
- Experience in producing professionally written content.
- Working knowledge and professional experience of:
- Social media platforms include Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Google.
- Photo and video-editing software including Photoshop, Snagit, Camtasia, and/or similar software.
- Email marketing platforms such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, and/or similar software.
- Canva and Adobe Creative products.
- WordPress or web design is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience working in the homeless services sector is highly desired.
- Understanding and commitment to “Housing First” principles in ending homelessness.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Associates and/or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in communications, marketing, or content design. Experience producing communications for internal and external marketing/social media at an organization level.
Other Skills and Requirements
- Team Member will have unrestricted access to sensitive information that may include PII and PHI, which requires adherence to HOM Security and Privacy Policies.
- Team Member may use or disclose PII or PHI through their Financial, and Human Resources duties listed above. All use and disclosure are subject to procedures outlined in Section 1.10 of the HOM Privacy Policies.
