Holland Hall was established in 1922 and currently serves approximately 1,000 preK through 12th grade students in a coeducational setting. The Building Engineer is responsible for starting up, regulating, repairing and shutting down equipment. This position monitors HVAC equipment, gauges and computerized controls to ensure that equipment operates safely and within established limits. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, facility safety inspections, and regular clean up and maintenance tasks as assigned in conjunction with the overall purpose of Holland Hall. A high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years as Commercial HVAC technician.

DUTIES
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the employee in this position will perform routine maintenance functions to include but not limited to:
Complete Preventative Maintenance and repairs on engines, chillers, boilers, HVAC and auxiliary equipment.
Reading gauges, meters, and charts to track equipment operations.
Monitoring boilers, chillers, air handler units, electric motors, plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment.
Repairing split units, roof top units and mini-split units.
Inspecting equipment to ensure that it is operating efficiently.
Checking safety devices routinely.
Recording data and keeping logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activity.
Operating a lift, tractors, equipment, golf carts and power tools as needed.
Assisting in moving furniture, equipment and setting up for events as needed.
Operating a School Bus for field trips and events.
Other duties as required to fulfill the overall purpose of Holland Hall.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Commercial Building for Educational setting and a strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience using CMMS and Google operating programs.
Experience with Building Automation Systems.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

Ability to work with various school and volunteer organizations.
Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties.
Clean Driving Record.
Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work hours are 7:30am to 3:00pm with a 30 minute lunch.
There may be some after hours and weekend work throughout the year for special events.
Workday regularly includes multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines and time pressures.
Ability to lift 50-80 pounds when necessary.
Work requires considerable physical effort and manual dexterity in both hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
Able to work in inclement weather when necessary.
Good close, distance, and color vision and depth perception.
Other activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
