HNTB is seeking a transit-minded Technical Writer to support their Client’s Capital Program, which is a major provider of public passenger rail, bus, and paratransit services in the Washington, D.C. region. With $25 billion in capital needs and $1.5 billion in annual, dedicated capital funding, the Client has hired HNTB Corporation to play a significant role in making the Client’s capital dollars go further and faster through comprehensive and coordinated project delivery strategies. In this role, HNTB Corporation is supporting the Client to drive organizational change, improve processes, and establish good practices.
What You’ll Do:
Works with Division Marketing and technical staff to write, format and edit content for qualifications, proposals and reports.
Edits and formats content written by others, ensuring consistency in writing style and approach throughout various documents.
Gathers information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Work with Client project managers and technical experts, as well as HNTB subject matter experts, task leads and cost estimators to develop procurement-ready scopes of work.
Work with Client project managers and technical experts, as well as HNTB subject matter experts, task leads and cost estimators to develop procurement-ready documentation for task order scope modifications.
Provide technical writing support to the project team for other client deliverables and presentations when requested.
Provide copy editing support for the project team’s deliverables when requested.
Support research, writing, and editing of federal infrastructure grants for clients around the country.
What We Prefer:
Previous experience supporting RAIL projects (heavy or light rail).
Previous experience supporting a transit or other public agency.
Previous experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and/or contract change requests.
Previous experience supporting federal infrastructure grant applications.
