Higginbotham Insurance Agency is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near Fort Worth, TX

Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Business Partner for our Fort Worth, TX office.

This HR Business Partner will have the following responsibilities:

  • Conducts monthly meetings with respective business units.
  • Consults with business unit management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal counsel as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to business unit management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Works closely with Talent Operations to develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Performs and administers Exit Interviews with exiting employees.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management; of human resources programs such as employment, compensation, classifications, employee relations, benefits, workers' compensation, or organizational development; and of federal, state and local laws and regulations governing personnel activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, working in a fast-paced environment, with frequently changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Location:

  • Fort Worth, TX

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
